KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two women were among the victims injured in a shooting incident on Monday along Tewari Crescent, Maxfield Avenue.
According to police reports, the women were traveling in a black Honda HRV when they were ambushed by an armed assailant who opened fire on their vehicle. In an attempt to escape the perilous situation, the driver accelerated onto Spanish Town Road, but the vehicle subsequently collided with a Toyota Probox.
Police officers, who quickly responded to the scene, provided immediate assistance and transported the injured women to Kingston Public Hospital. One of the women is reported to be in critical condition.
This shooting incident is the latest in a series of violent attacks in the area, believed to stem from an ongoing gang feud. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the event.
Local residents remain on high alert and hope for increased security measures to prevent further violence.
