MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Two men miraculously escaped serious injuries after the car they were traveling in veered off the road on Winston Jones Highway in Mandeville, Manchester, on Thursday afternoon.
The incident, which occurred around 4:00 PM September 12, was witnessed by Zahula, a local resident who recounted the event.
“I was across the road working when I heard a loud crash. When I came over to see what had happened, I saw a car in a gully. Thankfully, both men, who were Rastafarians, emerged unscathed,” said Zahula.
According to Zahula, the driver admitted to being momentarily distracted. “He said he had just looked down, and by the time he looked up, the car had already gone off the road,” Zahula explained.
Witnesses credit the quick response of local emergency services in assisting the two men and removing the vehicle from the gully. Despite the dramatic scene, both passengers were able to walk away from the accident without any serious injuries.
