Trelawny, Jamaica — A 24-year-old farmer from Trelawny has been charged with murder after the death of 35-year-old Conroy Bramwell, also known as ‘Smokey,’ from Spring Hill, Stewart Castle, Duncans. The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 14.
Onique Small, who also goes by the nickname ‘Ojay,’ and resides in Hague Settlement in Trelawny, is the individual charged with the crime. According to reports from the Falmouth Police, the incident escalated from a heated dispute over a loan Bramwell had given to Small. Around 11:15 PM on the evening of the incident, the argument quickly turned physical, resulting in Small allegedly using a pair of scissors to stab Bramwell.
The police were called to the scene, and Bramwell was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, August 17. The day after the stabbing, Small turned himself in to the authorities on August 15. Following a question-and-answer session conducted two days later, he was officially charged with murder.
As of now, Small’s court date is still being finalized. The community awaits justice as this tragic event shakes the people of Trelawny.
Additionally, it has emerged that two convicts planned the murder of a Crown witness from their prison cells, adding another layer of intrigue and concern to the ongoing investigations.
