Spanish Town, St. Catherine – A tragic incident occurred Sunday July 28, 2024 in Ebony Vale, Spanish Town, resulting in the death of a three-year-old boy. The incident took place at approximately 1:30 p.m. at 10 Oak Place.
The victim, Rojaghn Hinds, was found critically injured after a firearm discharge. According to reports, the child’s father, Rohan Hinds, a 57-year-old businessman, had just returned home from church with his family. In a hurry to dispose of garbage, Hinds placed his licensed firearm, under the couch before heading outside.
Moments later, Hinds heard a loud explosion and rushed back inside to find his son, Rojaghn, with a severe head injury. The young boy was immediately transported to Spanish Town Hospital, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The firearm involved in the incident has been seized for further investigation. Both Rohan Hinds and his wife are currently being interviewed, and statements are being recorded to uncover the full details of the tragic event.
The scene of the incident is still being processed by authorities as they continue their investigation into this heartbreaking incident.
