June 30, 2024
This evening at the University of the West Indies’ Philip Sharlock Creative Arts Centre in Mona will bring to a close this year’s enchanting concert season for the University Singers.
The show is expected to be the highlight of a series of featured performances running every weekend since June 1st.
Chairman Govern Ferguson said: “This season has been an incredible journey of musical excellence and cultural celebration….a visually striking presentation combining incredibly intricate harmonies, dynamic movement and vibrant costumes with expressive performances.”
This season will feature a mix of classical music, spirituals, folk songs and of course authentic Jamaican music.
The choir took the audience on a musical journey, performing outstanding songs and original compositions by Music Director Franklin Halliburton, Dr. Cathy Brown, the late former Music Director Noel Dexter, and other renowned composers and arrangers.
The grand gala presentation of the University Singers Concert Season 2024 will begin at 6 p.m.
