According to a Stadium Police report, around 12:15 a.m., three men posing as passengers entered a taxi and robbed it, injuring the taxi driver.
It was also reported that a fight broke out during the incident, leaving the taxi driver and one of the assailants injured by gunfire.
The robbers then reportedly left the vehicle and the taxi driver abandoned.
Police were notified and when they arrived at the scene they found the injured taxi driver and took him to hospital for treatment.
A search of the scene revealed the wounded gunman and one of his accomplices.
A Sig Sauer 9mm pistol was found with a magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition attached.
The injured suspect was taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment under police guard, while the other was detained.
Their identities will not be released pending further investigation.
