ST MARY, Jamaica — A 44-year-old cabinet maker from St. Mary narrowly escaped death when an armed man broke into his home on Tuesday at approximately 11 p.m.
According to police reports, the cabinet maker and his children were at home when a man entered through an unlocked front door, brandished a gun, and threatened the homeowner. As the homeowner fought to protect his family, another intruder entered the house and struck him on the head, causing him to fall.
Despite the homeowner’s efforts, the gunman opened fire, hitting him in the left hand before fleeing the scene on foot.
The injured man was promptly taken to Annotto Bay Hospital for treatment. The Annotto Bay Police are currently investigating the incident.
