The 2024 Jamaican karting season continued as the Jamaica Kart Association (JKA) held its third tournament of the year at Palisadoes International Raceway on Sunday.
April 28th.
In the Comer 50, Lucas Lee, Brett Fong Yi and Adrian Choi finished in the top three and were the only points earners of the day. Lee went home with 41 points, Fong Yi with 29 points and Choi with 27 points.
Rotax Micromax had the most participants but still it was Peter Wilson who came out on top of the points leaderboard, he scored 40.5 points, Dylan Smith had 35.5 and Benjamin Green had 24.5.
2023 Champion Carter Brandon Scholl maintained his lead in the Rotax Mini-Max class with 39.5 points. He continues to lead the battle with David Brown who finished the event with 34.5 points. In third place was Kai Beecher with 10 points on 24.5 points.
It was a similar story for Rotax Junior Luke Spencer, who continues to dominate his class just as he did in the last race meet, his performance putting him 11 points ahead of class rivals Justin Donaldson and Matthew Warmington (43 points), with Donald in second place with 31 points and Warmington on 25 points.
With only three competitors in the Rotax Seniors, the race was closely fought all day between Zachary Lee, Edward Upstone and Zander Williams. Unusually, both Lee and Upstone finished tied with 35 points. Williams was third with 27 points.
Tara Von Yi topped the Super Rotax class with 34.5 points for the day, followed by Charles Von Yi with 30.5 points. Mark Moody rounded out the top three in the class with 23.5 points.
