Spray Painter Arrested Following Alleged Robbery Near Tarrant High School
Kingston, Jamaica — In a swift response by local law enforcement, a 29-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged robbery near Tarrant High School in St Andrew. Dwayne Barrett, identified as a spray painter residing on Jackson Road, Kingston 10, has been charged with robbery with aggravation.
The incident occurred on Saturday, October 19, 2024. A group of friends walking in the area were reportedly accosted by a gang of men armed with machetes, knives, and scissors. The suspects allegedly stole valuables from the victims before attempting to flee the scene.
Thanks to the quick actions of the police, Barrett was intercepted and identified by one of the victims, leading to his arrest. Following a formal question-and-answer session held on Monday, October 21, 2024, in the presence of his legal representative, Barrett was charged with the crime.
While his court date is yet to be set, the case continues to highlight ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address crime and ensure public safety in Kingston.
