Kingston, Jamaica — Motorists across Jamaica can expect some relief at the pumps starting Thursday, August 29, as the latest ex-refinery costs from Petrojam reveal a notable decrease in gasoline prices.
The price of 90-octane gasoline will see a substantial cut of $2.26, bringing the new price to $181.16 per litre. Similarly, 87-octane gasoline will also drop by $2.26, resulting in a new price of $172.14 per litre.
In addition, automotive diesel fuel will reduce slightly by $0.31 to a new price of $168.36 per litre. Ultra-low sulphur diesel will be sold for $176.53 per litre, reflecting a modest decrease of $0.21.
Kerosene prices will decrease by $1.06, setting the new price at $160.20 per litre.
However, in contrast to the general downward trend, propane liquid petroleum will experience an increase of $2.05, making the new price $73.58 per litre. Butane liquid petroleum will rise by $2.23, with the new rate being $83.47 per litre.
It is important to note that marketing companies and retailers will add their respective mark-ups to these prices.
