Manchester, Jamaica – The tranquil farming community of Bigwood in Craighead, northeast Manchester, was rocked by violence on Saturday night when two people were shot dead and another man was injured.
The deceased have been identified as 39-year-old Tanesha Barton, also known as “Browning,” and 74-year-old Wilford Mallison, also known as “Danny,” both residents of the Bigwood neighborhood.
According to police reports, around 10pm, a resident reported hearing a loud explosion. Upon arrival at a nearby business, police found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Barton and Mallison were pronounced dead at the hospital, while the injured man, who was shot in the back and collapsed after running, was hospitalized for treatment.

The incident has left the local community in shock. Henry, a Bigwood resident, expressed his disbelief and sadness: “I was shocked and nervous this morning when I heard what happened. I can’t believe it; I’ve never seen anything like it before. I know the victims. Browning (Barton) and I went to the market together, and I’ve known Danny (Mallison) since I was a kid.
