Symonia Brown and Benjamin Savery recently celebrated their long-awaited wedding on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Carey Island. The couple’s love story dates back over 30 years when they first met and fell in love at a young age. After years of being apart and living in different countries, they reconnected six years ago in Jamaica and got engaged within 24 hours of meeting each other.
Symonia, who resides in England, took on the task of planning the wedding herself after struggling to find a wedding planner. She used Instagram to source rental items and decorations for the ceremony, creating a dream wedding witnessed by 100 family and friends. The ceremony took place at a charming private island, connected to the main grounds of Carey Island by a bridge, where Symonia was escorted by her sons and father to meet Benjamin at the altar.
The wedding was followed by a reception led by MC Tricia Cameron, with the newlyweds planning a snow-filled honeymoon in Canada later in the year. The couple was surrounded by loved ones, including Benjamin’s sons and Symonia’s children, as they celebrated and cut their three-tiered, hexagonal-shaped red velvet cake made by Symonia’s sister.
The beautiful moments captured by photographer Mark Brown of Mbredcarpet showcase the love and joy shared by Symonia and Benjamin on their special day. It was truly a moment that was three decades in the making, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories for the couple and their loved ones.
