ST CATHERINE, Jamaica— A distressing incident has led to the manslaughter charge of a 63-year-old retiree in St Catherine, Jamaica. Lurline Naylor of Innswood Parkway, Innswood Village, now faces serious legal consequences after allegedly leaving a four-year-old child unattended in a car, leading to his tragic death.
The incident occurred on February 24, 2022, on a seemingly routine day of school drop-offs. Naylor had transported Jordane Clarke, along with several other children, to the Destowe Bennette Basic School. Upon arrival, Naylor exited the vehicle with the other children, inadvertently leaving young Clarke inside the vehicle.

Following a thorough investigation, Naylor was formally charged with manslaughter after a question-and-answer session conducted on Monday, September 2, 2024, with her lawyer present. Her initial court appearance was scheduled for September 3, 2024.
This heartbreaking case underscores the critical importance of ensuring the safety of children at all times and serves as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of momentary lapses in vigilance.
