Reggae sensation Kulcha Doc is making waves with his latest rhythm project, Holy Mountain, which is currently available on iTunes and various digital platforms, distributed through his East Vibration Records label. Since its release on July 12, 2024, the project has garnered a positive reception, with fans and critics alike praising its vibrant energy and rhythmic depth.
“The reception has been very good so far, so I just continue to put in the work. These days, I depend on my social media platforms and am getting very good traction on songs such as my latest release, Parables, and Holy Mountain, the title track for the Holy Mountain rhythm project,” Kulcha Doc, whose real name is Ernie Anthony Lowe, shared. His strategic use of social media to promote his work has paid off, securing him an increasing number of followers and listeners.
Distributed by Music Embassy, the Holy Mountain project features collaborations with notable reggae artists such as Natty King, Turbulence, Craig Ed East, Money Pallet, Pasco Suhfar, and I Lue. This ensemble of talented musicians brings diverse flavors to the project, enhancing its appeal to reggae lovers worldwide.
“We will be shooting a video for my title track on the Holy Mountain rhythm this summer,” Kulcha Doc announced, expressing his excitement for the visual component of the project, which promises to further elevate its presence and impact.
Looking ahead, Kulcha Doc has no intention of slowing down. He plans to release another one-drop project entitled Honeycomb after the summer period, indicating his relentless drive towards musical innovation and expression.
Hailing from Bamboo River in Morant Bay, St Thomas, Kulcha Doc’s musical journey was influenced by his musically inclined family, particularly his father who was a skilled bass guitarist. During his teenage years, Kulcha Doc honed his craft on the Love Connection sound system, a popular feature in his district, which set the foundation for his future endeavors.
After migrating to the United States for personal commitments at the USA Naval Station, Kulcha Doc has seamlessly balanced his time between Jamaica and the U.S., continuing to draw inspiration from both locales. Though an accomplished artist, he also felt a strong inclination towards music production, a passion that has yielded fruitful collaborations and projects for various artists.
Kulcha Doc’s musical inspirations include legendary producers such as Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor, Lloyd “King Jammy” James, Dave Kelly, and Donavan Germaine. His admiration for these industry stalwarts is evident in his work, as he strives to blend their influences with his unique sound.
“I would love for my music to reach a wide audience out there in Europe, Asia, South and North America, and also the entire Caribbean. I make music from the soul and I know that people will be able to relate to it, whatever their religion or ethnic background,” Kulcha Doc expressed, underscoring his ambition for global recognition and his commitment to creating universally relatable music.
