Poet and recording artist Queen Majeeda has accepted an invitation from the Recording Academy to join their prestigious class of 2024.
She is one of thousands of music professionals invited to participate this year.
Majeeda responded on her Instagram page, saying she was excited to join the academy.
“I’m thrilled to be part of this year’s @RecordingAcademy inductee class and join the countless creatives and professionals who contribute to, celebrate and champion music throughout the year,” Majeeda said. “I’m excited to contribute my unique perspective and genre as we collectively recognize the greatness of music and its lasting impact on the world,” she continued.
Majeeda will have the power to effect change among her peers in the industry and in her own poetic and musical journey. As a voting member, she will have the opportunity to decide who will receive the Grammy Awards each year. Her influence will impact the future of music on an international level.
In December, Majeeda released her latest poetry album, “Wedding Invitation.” The latest single from the album, “Unfaithful Woman (Babylon),” was released in May. She also released another single, “I Said Yes,” on June 28.
Majeeda is working on several other recording projects and has also published an e-book collection of poetry titled “Talk of the Town,” and is also promoting her latest album at various venues across the United States.
