Lucea, Hanover – In a dramatic turn of events early July 27, 2024 Sunday morning, two prisoners escaped from police custody in Lucea, Hanover. The escapees, both 21 years old, were identified as Jermaine Barton of Cave Valley and Demetri Marks of Blenheim.
Jermaine Barton was facing charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, while Demetri Marks was charged with malicious destruction of property. The two men were discovered missing around 1:20 a.m. during a routine search of the holding cell. Reports indicate that the prisoners managed to escape through an opening in a grilled door.
The Hanover police have launched a major investigation into the escape. Authorities are working diligently to recapture the fugitives and ensure that all security protocols are reviewed and reinforced. The search for Barton and Marks is ongoing as law enforcement intensifies efforts to locate and apprehend them.
