MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Local police have apprehended and charged an 18-year-old male in connection with a stabbing incident that took place following a verbal altercation at a party in Knockpatrick, Manchester.
The accused, identified as Sanjay Williams, a labourer residing on Hillside Close in the parish, has been charged with wounding with intent.
Incident Details
According to police reports, the altercation occurred in the early hours of Friday, June 28. Around 2:00 am, the victim and a relative were attending a community party on Green Street when Williams approached them. After a brief exchange of words, Williams allegedly used a knife to stab the victim in the side, inflicting serious injuries.
Following the incident, Williams fled the scene. However, law enforcement officials managed to arrest him during an operation in Manchester on Tuesday, September 10.
Legal Proceedings
After his arrest, Williams was formally charged two days later, on Thursday, September 12, following an interview conducted in the presence of his attorney. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
