Jamaica’s Ravel Morrison Making Waves in UAE with Precision FC
Jamaican midfielder Ravel Morrison has been turning heads in the football world with his recent performances for UAE second division club Precision FC. The 31-year-old, who had not played for a professional club in two years, signed a deal with Precision FC and has already made four appearances for the club, scoring his first goal in a 3-2 win over Al Ittifaq.
Morrison’s career has been a rollercoaster ride, having played for 13 different clubs since 2012, including the likes of West Ham, Lazio, and Sheffield United. Despite his talent being widely recognized by the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Wayne Rooney, and Rio Ferdinand, Morrison has struggled to find stability at any one club.
In a recent interview, France’s World Cup winner Paul Pogba, who was in the Manchester United academy with Morrison, praised his talent, calling him the best player of his generation. Pogba expressed his belief that Morrison’s talent was unmatched and compared him to the likes of Neymar.
Since switching his allegiance to Jamaica in 2020, Morrison has made 18 appearances for the Reggae Boyz, contributing two goals and two assists. However, he has not been called up to the national team since the Concacaf Nations League A match against Mexico in March 2023.
Head Coach Steve McClaren has not ruled out Morrison’s return to the national set-up, stating that if Morrison continues to progress and demonstrate his abilities, he will be considered for selection. McClaren emphasized the importance of keeping an eye on Jamaican heritage players across the globe to ensure the best talent is represented in the national team.
Morrison’s new chapter in the UAE with Precision FC represents a fresh start for the talented midfielder, and he will be looking to make an impact with the Reggae Boyz once again. With his experience and potential, Morrison could be a key player for Jamaica as they look to build a competitive squad for future international competitions.
