KINGSTON, Jamaica — Operators at Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) have confirmed that a portion of the roof of the passenger boarding pier was damaged as a result of weather conditions associated with Hurricane Beryl.
PAC Kingston Airport Limited (PACKAL), the operator of NMIA, said a full assessment of the damage would be carried out once the storm has fully passed.
But Pakkar stressed that the airport would remain intact.
The airport was closed Tuesday night in preparation for the storm.
The company said it would provide an update on the resumption of flight activities in due course.
