ST. JAMES, Jamaica — The St. James police have launched a murder investigation following a fatal shooting in the Over River community early Tuesday morning July 30,2024 . The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Robert Davis, also known as ‘Grabba,’ of Hollywood Drive, Over River.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. at a local bar where Davis was present. An altercation erupted between Davis and several other patrons. During the confrontation, one of the men brandished a handgun and began assaulting Davis before pulling him outside the bar and shooting him multiple times in the upper body.
Davis attempted to flee the scene but collapsed along the banks of the Sign River shortly after. The attackers left the area, and the police were notified. Upon their arrival, officers found Davis lying face down with gunshot wounds to his back and face. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
