The Couples Resorts Jamaica 15th Annual Negril Charity Golf Tournament was a huge success, raising over $1.5 million for various charities in the region. The tournament, played at the Negril Hills Golf Club, saw Sean Morris and Romario Anglin emerge as gross score winners in the two-man scramble format.
Morris, who is gearing up for his amateur title defense at the Jamaica Open and the Florida State championships, teamed up with Anglin to shoot a seven under par 65, securing the top spot in gross scoring. Radino Lobban and Giovanni Blaire finished as the runners-up in gross scoring.
In net scoring, Paul Chin and Stainton Baker claimed the top spot with a score of 66.25, followed by Herbert Thompson and Andrew Spencer in second place, and Phillip Wilson and Hugh Logan in third.
CEO of Couples Resorts, Wayne Williams, expressed his delight at the success of the tournament and highlighted the importance of supporting local charities in the area. The funds raised will go towards initiatives in rural communities in Westmoreland and Hanover, where the resorts are located.
Projects such as supporting the Montego Bay Animal Haven and assisting schools like Grange Hill Primary and Green Island Primary are currently being considered for support from the proceeds of the tournament.
The tournament not only showcased the golfing skills of the participants but also demonstrated the generosity and support of the golfing community towards important causes in the region. Overall, the event was a great success and is set to make a positive impact on the local community.
