In a harrowing incident in Manchester’s Land Settlement neighborhood, a car dealer and his family were threatened with a gun, shot to death, and had three cars stolen from their home Wednesday night.
The deceased, identified as Omar Powell, was attacked along with his partner and their 15-year-old daughter by four gunmen at approximately 9:45 pm as they were returning home. The attackers reportedly abducted the family, taking them into the bush and tying them up on a bauxite transport road.
During this time, their home was allegedly ransacked. The gunmen stole three cars, including a Mercedes-Benz and two Toyota Proboxes, and took an unknown amount of cash.
Tragically, the attackers killed Mr. Powell before fleeing the scene. His partner and daughter were found several hours later, around 2 am on Thursday, and were taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
The Manchester police are investigating this violent crime and are urging anyone with information to come forward. This incident highlights the rising concerns of gun violence and home invasions in the area.
