Man Charged with Violent Attack on Woman in St Ann
ST ANN, Jamaica – In a disturbing incident in Farm Town, Discovery Bay, a man has been charged after allegedly breaking into a woman’s home and assaulting her with a knife. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Kemar York, a laborer from Landlewy, St Thomas, faces charges of burglary and wounding with intent.
According to reports from the Discovery Bay police, the incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. on Saturday, October 5. The victim, who was at home, heard noises at her front door. On investigating, she recognized York at her doorstep. Allegedly, York forcibly entered the residence by kicking open the door and proceeded to attack the woman, inflicting a stab wound to her thigh.
The commotion raised the alarm, drawing the attention of nearby residents who intervened and detained York before contacting law enforcement authorities. Police officers arriving at the scene ensured that both York and the injured woman were taken to the hospital. After receiving medical treatment for her injuries, the woman was released.
York, following medical attention, was arrested and charged. Authorities are currently in the process of finalizing his court appearance date.
