KINGSTON, Jamaica— The family of Rohan Malcolm, a former Jamaica Observer employee tragically killed on August 31, 2024, by his wife Denise, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise US$25,000 (J$3.8 million) to cover funeral costs and offer financial support to his grieving loved ones.
The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, September 19, 2024. Malcolm’s untimely death has shocked and saddened the community, especially as one of his 14-year-old twin sons reportedly witnessed the tragic event.
“Dear Friends and Supporters, we come together in heartache to honour the memory of Rohan Malcolm, who was tragically taken from us in an act of violence that has left our community grieving,” the GoFundMe page states.
Described as a “beacon of light” known for his kindness, humor, and unwavering support for others, Malcolm is remembered fondly by those who knew him. The crowdfunding campaign has so far garnered US$3,425. The family emphasizes that “every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference.”
