Since 2017, restaurant giant KFC Jamaica has partnered with Kevin Downswell Ministries to support, mentor and encourage many vulnerable youth in Jamaica through its Realignment Concert Tour and Youth Outreach Programme.
After a four-year hiatus, primarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Realignment series is back with Realignment Chapter 4, which will take place on Saturday, July 6 at the Lanny Williams Entertainment Center and Sunday, July 7 at Mandeville Elementary and Middle School.
At the Reorganised Tour’s media launch on June 25, KFC re-committed to its support through sponsorship worth $5 million. Proceeds from this year’s Reorganised Chapter 4 will be donated to The Salvation Army Hanbury Children’s Home in Kendal, Manchester, and Windsor Lodge Children’s Home in Windsor Lodge, Manchester.
Speaking at the launch, Restaurants of Jamaica marketing manager Andrae Roper said: “We are thrilled to be working with Kevin Downswell Ministries again, who are like family to us at KFC, and we feel the work they have done for the children of Jamaica over the years is extremely rewarding.”
Meanwhile, Minister Kevin Downswell expressed his sincere gratitude for the ongoing partnership with KFC and stressed the importance of the Reinvention Tour’s mission to support children who need it most. He said: “We are blessed to be able to make such an impact on the lives of these children every year. But we know this is not a one-off, it needs to be an ongoing thing. That’s why we keep coming back because children need us… This relationship began in 2017 and has gone from strength to strength. I want to sincerely thank the Restaurants of Jamaica team for believing in our mission every year,” Minister Downswell said.
On July 6th and 7th, gospel music fans can look forward to two fantastic shows featuring some of Jamaica’s biggest names, including Chevelle Franklin, Positive, Johnmark Wigan, Prince Saji and Kevin Downswell himself.
