KINGSTON, Jamaica — In a significant move, 19-year-old Jamaican winger Kaheim Dixon has signed a four-year contract with Charlton Athletic Football Club. The promising young talent was officially unveiled by the London-based club on Friday.
Dixon transitions to League One side Charlton Athletic from Jamaica Premier League club Arnett Gardens for an undisclosed fee. This move was facilitated by Charlton’s partners, Mount Pleasant, as well as the club’s strong ties with Jamaica’s national team, where Dixon has already made a mark.
The young winger will don jersey number 13 for Charlton Athletic. His impressive stats from the previous season with Clarendon College demonstrate his potential, having led the team to two titles in the ISSA schoolboys’ football competition. Dixon netted 32 goals and provided 17 assists, underscoring his pivotal role in their success.
Moreover, Dixon has already tasted international exposure, scoring twice for the Reggae Boyz and participating in the Copa America tournament in June. Reflecting on his move to England, Dixon expressed his excitement, “I’m very happy to be here. My first opportunity to go professional is to be at the Addicks. It’s been very good to see Karoy [Anderson], another teammate from my country. I can’t wait to start playing with him.”
Charlton Athletic fans and the football world alike will be eager to see how Dixon’s promising career progresses in England. His combination of local achievements and international experience positions him as a standout new addition to the Charlton squad.
