Jamaica on track to defend Caribbean Golf Association’s 4-Ball title
Jamaica’s golf team is in a strong position to defend their Caribbean Golf Association’s 4-Ball title after two rounds of play at the Plantain Golf and Country Club in Trinidad and Tobago. With a commanding lead over the rest of the competition, Jamaica is poised to secure their fifth consecutive win in the championship.
Currently, Jamaica holds 46 points in the six-trophy competition, leading host country Trinidad and Tobago by eight points. Bermuda is in third place with 25 points, closely followed by the Bahamas with 24 points. Barbados sits in fifth place with 16 points, while the Cayman Islands are in sixth place with six points.
Heading into the final round, Jamaica is leading in three trophy categories, tied for first in one, tied for second in one, and in fifth place in another. The team’s stellar performance has put them in a favorable position to clinch victory once again.
In individual trophy categories, Jamaica is leading in the Francis & Steele-Perkins Cup, the Higgs and Higgs Trophy, and the Dessie Henry Trophy for mid-amateur ladies. The team is tied for first place in the Maria Nunes Trophy for senior ladies and tied for second in the Ashraph Ali Cup for men over 70 years. In the Ramon Baez Romano Trophy, Jamaica is currently in fifth place.
With a strong showing from their largest contingent of 20 golfers, Jamaica is determined to bring home the championship for a fifth consecutive time. The team’s consistency and skill on the course have positioned them as the team to beat in the Caribbean Golf Association’s 4-Ball competition.
