The ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition is heating up as teams battle it out for a spot in the round of 16. On Saturday, three teams secured their places in the next round, and today, 11 teams will be vying for the remaining eight spots from four of the eight groups.
Defending champion, Clarendon College, revived their chances with a late 3-1 win over Paul Bogle High on Saturday. They will look to continue their momentum with a win over Titchfield High in their upcoming match.
In group eight, McGrath High and Garvey Maceo High are currently leading the pack with four points each. Christiana High, who are close behind with three points, have a chance to shake things up if they can secure a win today.
Group one is also a tightly contested group, with Kemps Hill High and Rusea’s High battling it out for the top spot. Cornwall College, on the other hand, will need a win to secure their spot in the next round.
In group three, St Elizabeth Technical and Manchester High are neck and neck with four points each. Manning’s School, with three points, will be looking to cause an upset and secure their place in the round of 16.
