HANOVER, Jamaica — Residents of Mount Peace in Hanover reportedly disarmed a gunman in their community Saturday, preventing an altercation from turning deadly.
Police said around 10 a.m., three men approached another man with whom they had previously been in an argument.
One of the suspects allegedly brandished a gun and threatened the victim, but neighbours witnessed this and intervened, successfully disarming the gunman.
The three suspects then reportedly fled the scene, and residents called police.
The firearms were then handed over to them. The men are currently on the run and are being pursued by Hanover Police.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
