Construction Worker Charged with Multiple Offenses Following Hanover Home Break-in

In a recent incident that took place in Green Island, Hanover, Jamaica, a construction worker has been hit with several charges relating to a burglary that occurred on Monday, October 21. The accused, 47-year-old Dennis McKenzie from Salt Spring, Montego Bay, St James, has been charged with house breaking, larceny, and malicious destruction of property.
According to reports, the homeowner had securely locked his house, leaving his son inside, before heading out. At approximately 9:30 am, a noise at the front door caught the attention of the complainant’s son. Upon investigation, the teen witnessed McKenzie allegedly attempting to steal a refrigerator from the home. Acting swiftly, the son contacted his father, who returned home to find McKenzie in the act of removing a washing machine.
Confronted by the homeowner, McKenzie fled the scene. The incident was reported to the local police, leading to McKenzie’s subsequent arrest and charging. He is scheduled to appear in the Hanover Parish Court on Wednesday, November 13, to face the allegations.
