The GWM ORA 03 is currently available for sale in Jamaica through Stewart’s Auto Sales, the local dealer for Great Wall Motor vehicles.
The model was unveiled at the showroom on South Camp Road on Wednesday, June 19th.
The ORA 03 is the manufacturer’s first battery electric vehicle built on an all-new electric platform, with a five-door hatchback form factor but styled with what’s being called a retro-futuristic aesthetic.
In addition to its distinctive styling, the ORA 03 boasts youthful color options, standard 18-inch wheels and unique LED lighting all around.
Inside, the car is packed with design cues that feel more futuristic than retro, and there’s a wealth of convenience and driver-assistance tech controlled via the 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen and accompanying instrument cluster. Standard features include a 360-degree camera, blind-spot detection, lane-keeping assist, active cruise control, automatic brake hold, wireless charging, and emergency braking.
The ORA 03 will be sold in two variants, standard and GT trim, which adds a sporty feel to the vehicle, with the GT getting a body kit, panoramic roof, power seats, leather and Alcantara upholstery and a few other racier bits to complete the package.
The ORA 03 is powered by two electric motors, one on each front wheel, producing a total of 169 horsepower and 185lb/ft of torque from a floor-mounted 63kWh battery. Range is listed at 480 kilometers. With a CCS Type 2 charging port, the ORA 03 can support up to 11kW AC charging and 67kW DC fast charging. On AC power, it takes six and a half hours to charge to 100%. Fast charging cuts that time to 58 minutes.
