Kingston, Jamaica — In response to the significant impact of Hurricane Beryl, GK General Insurance (GKGI), a member of the GraceKennedy Financial Group, has announced an extension for the submission of property claims. The new deadline extends to Tuesday, September 10, 2024, providing additional time for clients who were affected by the category four storm.
K. Michelle Reid, Claims Manager at GKGI, explained the rationale behind the extension. “Our clients are at the heart of our business, and we understand that Hurricane Beryl has created significant difficulties for many. To provide more time for our clients to recover and address their immediate needs, we’ve extended our claim submission deadline beyond the usual 30-day period to September 10, 2024.” Reid urged clients to submit their Hurricane Beryl claim notifications, reports, and supporting documents as soon as possible for efficient processing.
Recognising the persistent challenges in regions such as St Elizabeth, Manchester, and Clarendon, where many residents continue to suffer from electricity and internet service disruptions, GKGI is extending multiple submission options. Clients can visit GKGI branches in person or contact the customer service team by phone at 876-926-3204 or via WhatsApp at 876-581-8611.
Clients can also download claim forms from the GKGI website and submit property claims through the ‘My Policy Portal’ at gk-insurance.com, or via email to gki_claimscommunication@gkco.com.
With this extension, GKGI reiterates its commitment to supporting its clients through challenging times, ensuring that they have the necessary time and resources to recover from the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Beryl.
For ongoing updates and support, clients are encouraged to keep in touch with GKGI through its various customer service channels.
