Significant Drop Across Gas and Diesel Prices Effective September 5
Kingston, Jamaica — Motorists in Jamaica will see notable savings at the pump starting Thursday, September 5, 2024, as Petrojam announces a reduction in the ex-refinery costs of various fuels.
Effective tomorrow, 90-octane gasoline will retail at $178.54 per litre, marking a decrease of $2.62 per litre. Similarly, 87-octane gasoline will now be sold at $169.52 per litre, also reflecting a decrease of $2.62 per litre.
Automotive diesel users are not left out, as they will benefit from a decrease of $2.06, setting the new price at $166.30 per litre. Additionally, ultra-low sulphur diesel is set to drop by $2.15, making the new price $174.38 per litre.
In other fuel categories:
- Kerosene sees a decrease of $1.91, setting the new price at $158.30 per litre.
- Propane liquid petroleum prices will drop by $0.25, now priced at $73.33 per litre.
- Unlike the other fuels, butane liquid petroleum will see a slight increase of $0.07, bringing the price to $83.54 per litre.
These changes come as welcomed news for consumers and businesses alike, promising some relief at a time when fuel costs have been a significant concern. As always, marketing companies and retailers will apply their respective mark-up to these prices post-ex-refinery.
