ST. CATHARINE, Jamaica — Jason Hines, a 44-year-old gardener from West Prospect, has been charged with aggravated assault and intentional injury following an incident on Saturday, July 20, in Bog Walk, St. Catherine.
According to a police report, the altercation began around 6:30 p.m. when a man approached Hines to discuss a debt. During the conversation, Hines allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed the man, who was subsequently hospitalized.
Residents intervened, stopping Hines and handing him over to the police. Hines was arraigned on Tuesday, July 23.
He is scheduled to appear in St. Catherine Parish Court on Wednesday, July 31.
