WESTMORELAND, JAMAICA — Four suspected robbers were killed early Friday morning in a dramatic confrontation with the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force in Negril Square.
The incident occurred between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. when police, acting on intelligence, intercepted several vehicles in the area. This led to an intense shootout with the suspects. Fortunately, no police officers were injured in the exchange.
Following the gunfire, the police recovered six firearms from the scene. The operation is ongoing as local investigators, alongside Marine Police, continue to search for additional evidence related to the case.
The following firearms and ammunition were seized;
1. One Colt M16 assault rifle, bearing serial number 9197261 l with a magazine affixed containing twenty-five 5.56 cartridges,
2. One M16 rifle, bearing serial number HP 102476 PA-15 MUHI with a magazine affixed containing twenty 5.56 cartridges,
3. One Parabellum pistol, bearing serial number T6368-09 A04763 with a magazine affixed containing sixteen 9mm cartridges
4. One AK-47 assault rifle with a magazine affixed containing twenty-three 7.62 cartridges
5. One .38 Smith and Wesson Revolver, bearing serial number K37119 loaded with five .38 cartridges 6. One Semi-Automatic pistol with a magazine affixed containing thirteen 9mm cartridges and an additional magazine containing twenty-six 7.62 cartridges.
