ST. MARY, Jamaica — Akeem Rowe, a 28-year-old farmer from Fort Stewart, Community, was shot dead by a lone gunman while playing dominoes at a community bar in Enfield, St. Mary, on Saturday night.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Police reports indicate that Rowe was playing dominoes with a group of men when a gunman approached and brandished a handgun. The assailant fired multiple shots at Rowe, striking him several times before fleeing on foot. No other individuals were injured in the attack.
Rowe was rushed to Annotto Bay Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police investigators recovered eight 9mm shell casings and one spent bullet at the scene. The motive for the murder remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
