The MoBay Racing Association (MRA) hosted an exhilarating tarmac sprint event at the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium on Sunday, August 11. The event, named the Double 7 MRA SKATE sprint, brought together cars from the rally, circuit, and drift genres for a day of high-speed action.
One of the key highlights of the event was the return to tarmac racing, something that had not been seen in rallysprint for over a decade. Mark-Anthony March of MRA expressed the challenges and rewards of organizing a tarmac sprint, emphasizing the importance of coordination and safety in such an event.
The competition was fierce, with a trio of Subarus dominating the podium at the end of the day. Demar Lee took home the championship win in his Impreza, followed closely by Brandon King and Ian Galbraith. Looking ahead, MRA is planning to formalize its Sprint championship in 2025 by adding another tarmac venue to its lineup. The organization is set to return to Spot Valley for the next sprint event at the end of October, promising more thrills and excitement for fans and competitors alike.
