Observer Online has learned from reliable sources that Duane Johnson has been appointed head coach of the Jamaica College (JC) athletics team.
Johnson, a former JC Old Boy, replaces Neil Harrison, whose contract was not renewed at the end of the season.
When contacted, Johnson, who has been JC’s middle and long distance coach for the past eight years, would neither confirm nor deny the appointment.
Harrison, who was appointed JC head coach in 2018, led the Old Hope-based college to the men’s championship title in 2021. JC finished a disappointing second place with 278 points behind rivals Kingston College, who won this year’s men’s championship in March with 335 points.
