WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — Police have charged a construction worker with the rape and sexual assault of a teenage girl who is said to be his stepdaughter.
The defendant is said to be 60 years old and a resident of Westmoreland.
According to reports, between September and December 2021, the girl was sent to collect money from her mother to her stepfather on several occasions. During the visits, the man allegedly assaulted the girl and on another occasion had sex with her against her will.
The incident was reported to police.
On Wednesday, July 17, officers searched the man’s home and he was arrested and charged.
His trial date is currently being scheduled.
