Primo Green and Quota, former members of sibling group EMG, have reunited for a rocking track titled “Day Ones”, which was released in late August. The Canadian hip hop artistes, who are brother and sister with Jamaican roots, collaborated on this track which is produced by Chrxs.
The Toronto-based duo have been making efforts to break into the mainstream music scene, with a focus on promoting Primo Green as a solo artist. Motion, a member of Primo Green’s camp, mentioned that while there are plans for the group in the future, the current priority is establishing Primo Green’s presence in the music industry.
“Day Ones” follows the success of Primo Green’s previous collaboration with roots singer Norris Man on the track “I Am Stronger”. This collaboration was released before Primo Green’s performance at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay last July. The experience of performing at one of the world’s biggest reggae shows has inspired Primo Green to seek more opportunities to perform in Jamaica.
Reflecting on his performance at Reggae Sumfest, Primo Green expressed his gratitude to Norris Man for the opportunity and his desire to showcase his artistry and versatility on more platforms in Jamaica. He expressed his eagerness to return to perform at Reggae Sumfest in the near future.
EMG, the group that Primo Green and Quota were part of, recorded several songs including “Touch The Road” featuring Jah Vinci. Since branching out as solo artists, Primo Green has released a series of singles and one album titled “Wonderland”.
With their recent collaboration on “Day Ones” and Primo Green’s ambitions to continue performing in Jamaica, fans can expect more exciting music and performances from these talented artistes in the future.
