Double Murder Triggers Security Crackdown in Manchester Parish
Manchester, Jamaica — In response to a recent surge in violent crime, the police have imposed a curfew in Albion, Manchester, and surrounding areas. This decision follows a harrowing Tuesday night, where a double murder claimed the lives of two men, Khalou Stultz, also known as ‘Rasta’, 29, of Albion, and Henry Brown, referred to as ‘Ice Man’, 42, of Barnstable. Additionally, a 27-year-old man sustained injuries during the attack at a bar in Bottom Albion.
Reprisal Attacks
Authorities believe that the double murder was a retaliatory act connected to the August 12th murder of Bryan Samuels in Top Albion. An already tense community must brace itself as this string of violent acts continues to escalate.
Expanding the Curfew
The curfew, which began at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, will remain in effect until 6:00 PM on Friday. The designated perimeter of the curfew encompasses Fisher Road, deCarteret Road, May Day, Newlands, Hillside, and Albion, as police efforts intensify to restore peace and security in the affected areas.
Additional Fatality
Further compounding the situation, another man identified as Romario White, a 29-year-old carpenter from Silent Hill, was killed in a separate bar shooting in the parish on Wednesday night. This incident raises the alarm, marking the third murder in Manchester within just 24 hours, escalating the urgency for stringent security measures.
Community Reaction
Residents are both alarmed and hopeful that the curfew will bring a semblance of safety back to their town. Community leaders are urging calm while cooperating fully with law enforcement to bring an end to the violence.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities are continuing their investigation into these gruesome killings, urging anyone with information to come forward. Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson stated, “We are doing everything in our power to ensure justice is served and that no stone is left unturned in these investigations.”
The recent wave of violence underscores the dire need for community cohesion and increased security measures to ensure the safety of residents in Manchester and beyond.
