ST MARY, Jamaica — A 45-year-old construction worker from Kingston was shot and injured in the Castleton area of St. Mary on Wednesday morning.
Police reports indicate that the incident occurred around 8 a.m. while the man was cleaning his car along Contento Main Road. He noticed a motorbike repeatedly riding back and forth towards him. The motorcyclist eventually stopped, approached the man, pulled out a gun, and fired a shot, hitting the man in the right leg.
The injured man managed to flee into a nearby ravine where he called the Castleton Police Department for help. He was subsequently taken to Annotto Bay Hospital for treatment.
Police found two spent shell casings at the scene. The Port Maria Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) is currently investigating the incident.
