The Super Street class continues to be a lively field. Rory Daly
The 2024 Jamaican circuit racing season will see the Jamaica Race Drivers Club (JRDC) host a Carnival of Speed at the iconic St. Ann track on April 1, followed by the traditional Easter Monday start at Dover Raceway.
In the Super Street Turbo class, Vijay Voorla dominated by winning two out of three races. Jonathan Addison was the only driver in this class to reach the top of the podium.
In Super Street naturally aspirated, Robert Murray and Sashawn Falloon had similar results, with Murray winning two of the three races and Falloon winning the other.
In the higher classes things weren’t so simple as drivers struggled to gain an early advantage over their rivals. In Improved Production Class 1, three drivers won: Ricardo Clark, Robert Murray and Terrom Marshall. It was a similar story in Improved Production Class 3, with all three races won by Jody Gibson, Sebastian Rea and Sheldon Morgan. In Improved Production Class 2, John Steele won two races and Charles Phillips won one.
Several of the Improved Production class drivers pulled double duty in the various Improved Production classes. Ricardo Clark scored a hat trick in Improved Production Class 1. In Improved Production Class 2, Nazario Barreto beat Charles Phillips 2-1. Oliver Townsend produced a thrilling performance in Improved Production Class 3, beating class rival Lamar Larmond. Townsend won two classes and Larmond won one. Sarah Missil was the top driver in Improved Production Class 4, winning two of the three races. Alan Gordon won one in Improved Production Class 4.
For two-wheeled speed fans, all Motorcycle Exhibition Class B races were won by Manare Edwards and two of the three Motorcycle Exhibition Class A races were won by Daniel David, with the third race won by McShane Heslop.
