Olympian Asafa Powell and his wife Alicia Miller Powell.
The Essink Fashionable Brunch, held at Pollyanna’s, Stanton Terrace, St Andrew on June 23, was attended by some of the biggest names in music, sport and business.
The event’s third stage saw attendees come out dressed to impress.
Spin masters Shukkle Bus and Fast Car, DJ Mario and ZJ Chrome lit up the iron wheels of music and guests couldn’t help but dance while savoring delicious food provided by Timber Lounge, Little Ceasar’s, Popeyes and Holiday Snacks.
Among those enjoying the atmosphere were football star Leon Bailey, Olympian Asafa Powell, entertainers Bounty Killer, Popcaan, Christopher Martin, Moyan and music producer and recording artiste Suk of Ward 21.
The music selection ranges from 1990s hip hop and rhythm and blues to 2000s hits and current hardcore dancehall, so patrons can dance to a variety of music genres.
Event coordinator Carlo Ciampino says the staging is the biggest one yet.
“Attendance at this year’s event increased to 1,378 guests, a huge improvement from the 850 guests we had in December last year. For us, the highlight of the event is seeing months of planning come to fruition and visitors turn out in style,” Ciampino told the Jamaica Observer.
He also spoke about how the event has evolved since it was first held.
“I would say this event has grown so quickly thanks to the support of our title sponsor, Remy Martin. We started off with only 500 attendees and we never questioned their support. Other brands like Popeyes, Little Caesars, Krispy Kreme, Barilla Pasta and Holiday Snacks also led the way and partnered with us on this staging. I have to say their support has been like rocket fuel,” said Ciampino.
