Jamaica — The Carimed Foundation has donated approximately $4.5 million worth of relief supplies to Food for the Poor to support their efforts to help Jamaicans affected by Hurricane Beryl.
Donations handed out by representatives from Carimed Group during a visit to Food for the Poor’s Spanish Town site on Tuesday, July 9, included water, food, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products and over-the-counter medications.
After the hurricane passed, Food for the Poor was one of the first responding organizations to spearhead the distribution of relief supplies to the hardest-hit parishes.
Carimed Group Chairman Glenn Christian praised Food for the Poor’s quick response and said the company was in discussions with several international suppliers interested in supporting the relief effort
