Downtown Kingston Bus Dispute Turns Deadly
Passengers were left in shock and distress on Monday March 10,2025 when a heated dispute between a bus driver and a conductor escalated into a fatal stabbing in the heart of downtown Kingston.
The altercation, reportedly over $150, ended in tragedy when 36-year-old Kemar Myrie, also known as ‘Paul,’ of Top Temple Hall, St. Catherine, was fatally wounded.
According to police reports, the incident unfolded around 12:20 p.m. along Orange Street, near Heywood Street. Myrie and the bus driver got into an argument, during which the driver allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed Myrie in the left side of his neck before fleeing the scene on foot.
A friend of the injured conductor rushed him to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
As of publication time, the driver remained on the run, and police investigations were ongoing.
