ATL Automotive Group continues to expand its brand offering with being appointed as a Regional Master Dealer for globally renowned automobile manufacturer MG.
The announcement was made on Thursday, July 24, 2024.
“Two years of negotiations with MG have culminated in a major win for ATL Automotive Group. With a century of tradition of excellence, MG has already demonstrated the potential of our incredible partnership,” said Adam Stewart, executive chairman of ATL Automotive Group.
MG comes under the ATL umbrella along with Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Kia, Honda, BMW, MINI and most recently BYD and Foton.
ATL Automotive Group is currently the regional master dealer for BMW, MINI, BYD and Foton. With MG’s appointment, for the first time, ATL Automotive Group will assume regional management responsibility for the Dominican Republic, Belize, Haiti, Turks and Caicos Islands and six other Caribbean territories.
“We are particularly excited about the Dominican Republic as it marks our first foray into a Spanish-speaking market and will be our largest territory. It represents a tremendous opportunity for us to grow our influence in the region through a series of innovative brand initiatives,” said Stewart.
MG vehicles are designed in Marylebone, London and built in state-of-the-art factories around the world, and the current model range includes a range of SUVs, sedans and hatchbacks.
The brand’s range of petrol, electric and hybrid vehicles caters to a wide range of customers, from first-time car buyers to senior executives.
“MG is renowned for its sporty, high-performance yet affordable vehicles, offering a range of models that combine great design, cutting-edge technology and excellent value for money. The brand’s commitment to innovation and sustainability aligns perfectly with ATL Automotive’s vision for the future of mobility in the Caribbean.”
Three models will be initially available in the Jamaican market: MG HS, MG ZS and MG4 EV. The full MG passenger car range, including the MG3, MG GT, MG EHS and MG4, will soon be available from a temporary showroom at ATL Automotive’s Oxford Road flagship store. State-of-the-art sales and service facilities in Kingston and Montego Bay are scheduled to be built by the end of 2025.
“We reach a significant milestone by officially signing this groundbreaking agreement and establishing our first-ever MG Caribbean Hub next to ATL Automotive, a regional automotive leader. This partnership is more than just a business transaction; it represents a shared vision for innovation, excellence and mutual growth,” said Stewart.
“ATL Automotive has built an incredible reputation by providing top-class automotive solutions and exceptional customer service. Their commitment to excellence reflects our own values and goals, making this partnership a natural and powerful alliance,” said Zhang Wei, president, North, Central America and the Caribbean, SAIC International.
