St James Most Wanted Man Captured in Police Operation
St James, Jamaica – In a decisive breakthrough, the St James police have apprehended Liko Maxwell, known locally as ‘Niko’, one of the parish’s most notorious figures. Maxwell, who has been prominently featured in the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Wanted Wednesday campaign, was captured during a targeted operation in Montego Bay’s Garland district on Friday morning.
The arrest unfolded around 3:30 am as law enforcement officials conducted a search operation at a residential property in the area. During the search, Maxwell was found and detained. In addition to his arrest, officers discovered a Girsan Rigard pistol equipped with a magazine holding seventeen 9mm rounds of ammunition. A woman present at the location was also arrested and is currently in custody pending further investigation.
Superintendent Eron Samuels, commanding officer of the St James Division, lauded the successful operation and emphasized the critical role community cooperation plays in law enforcement efforts. He urged local residents to continue collaborating with police authorities by sharing any pertinent information they might have, with the aim of achieving a safer and more secure environment for the upcoming Christmas season.
"We are asking the citizens of St James to just tell us what they know, and pass on the information. We want to ensure that you’re able to have a crime-free or low-crime Christmas," Superintendent Samuels stated.
