The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Area Council One nominated Andrew Holness unopposed to remain the party’s leader for another year.

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Area Council One has nominated Andrew Holness unopposed to remain the party’s leader for another year.
The nomination was moved by Juliet Cuthbert Flynn, the Member of Parliament (MP) for St Andrew West Rural and seconded by Dwayne Smith who has been selected to represent the party in St Andrew North Western after the sitting MP Dr Nigel Clarke resigns.
The Area Council also nominated Kingston Western MP Desmond McKenzie unopposed to return as a Deputy Leader.
The two were nominated at an Area Council One meeting at the Pembroke Hall Community Centre in the St Andrew North Western constituency on Monday night.
